It’s worth to mention that Luke wasn’t one of the first twelve apostles, he didn’t even met Jesus in person. The Gospel of Luke begins with the birth of both Jesus and John the Baptiste and finishes with the ascension of Jesus to Heaven. ![]() The Gospel of Mark is mainly about the baptistm of Jesus by John. The tell finishes with the resurection of Christ and his mission to the apostles: transmit his message. The Gospel of Matthew begins with the birth of Jesus, the visit of the magi and the flight to Egypt. Each gospel tells about some aspects of the life of Jesus: Far from being limited to only one person – as in the case of the gospels that only tell the life of Jesus of Nazareth – the Parallel Livesof Plutarch tell the life of several famous people of the ancient world who Plutarch thought were worth of imitating to.Īlthough traditionally the Four Gospels are ascribed to Jesus’ followers, there is no a consensus about it. Both the work of Plutarch and the Gospels were written in greek and are biographies. The lifespan of the Greek Plutarch of Chaeronea went simultaneously to the writing of the Four Gospels, this is from about 50 to 120 AD.
